Vacation Day Nine

7/18/22

Family Vacation Day Nine: Hidden Passage Trail Loop, Pickett CCC Memorial State Park, Jamestown, Tennessee – 9 miles.

Ready, set, go!
There were a lot of rock formations along this trail!
Looking for caves.
Cool arch.
Exploring the rock houses.
More exploring.
Happy place.
Another rock house. It’s much cooler in here.
Making our way to the exit.
Cool hiking warrior!
Beautiful waterfall! Rachel and Patricia decided not to climb down to see this one (?? …I know right!)
Mother-daughter waterfall selfie time.
Exploring under the waterfall and getting a little wet.
Happy couple 💕
One last look.
There were delicious wild blueberries along the entire trail!! We ate a lot 🫐🫐!
Another super-cool rock formation.
Luna did so awesome today!!
It’s starting to rain, time to get off the mountain.
Only a few obstacles.
It was still sprinkling on us so we may end up retreating into one of the rock houses if it rains harder.
Under cover briefly.
A break in the weather until. . .
It started really raining!
And raining…
A turtle enjoying the rain.
The animal whisperer.
Happy place out of the rain!
More beautiful rock formations.
Climbing companions.
A brief break in the rain.
The fog was pretty cool.
More blueberries.
The calm before. . .
We got absolutely poured on!
The rain stopped and we hiked up to a camp area playground.
Wheee!
Lizzy’s turn.
Not too big at all. . .
Very, very wet but we did 9 miles!

Patricia and Rachel decided to stay in the car while we checked out the museum:

A two very small room museum.
We signed in, but there wasn’t much there so we didn’t spend much time here.

That was an adventure!
