Romeo And Juliet

11/02/23

Lizzy and Rachel were both cast in the Gainesville High School production of Romeo and Juliet:

Rachel and Lizzy were in the opening scenes together:

They had an awesome fight scene!

After those scenes Lizzy went back stage and changed clothes and character and she played Juliet!

Rachel was back on stage as well and Lizzy had one of several costume changes:

She had a bit of a crush on Romeo (Daniel).

Congratulations Rachel on your first High School performance!

Congratulations Lizzy on a wonderful performance as Juliet!

Of course, Mom went to all four performances! “They were all so good!”

There was a different Romeo in the last performance:

Congratulations to the student directors including Lizzy’s best friend Yara!:

A Car!

10/27/23

Mom and Dad secretly got us an early Christmas present:

They parked it in front of our next door neighbors house (with their permission) so we never suspected anything!

Two days later. . .

We got home from work and Mom and Dad came in wearing Santa hats, ringing Christmas bells and singing “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”. We thought they just were acting crazy! Then they had us sit in the living room and they gave us this box gift:

“What Is it girls?”
“Keys?!”

Go look outside!

Merry Christmas!

Lizzy in disbelief and Rachel crying happy tears.
Yes, it’s yours!
Still in disbelief and still crying happy tears.
Off for a test drive.
Awesome! Thank you so much Mom and Dad!

Halloween!

10/21/23

The first costumes of the season: Zombies

They were headed to a church dance!

10/25/23

Fall Festival at church. We did an active representation of Ammon from the Book of Mormon. Ammon became a servant to King Lamoni, a Lamanite king. He protected the king’s sheep and helped the other servants be brave. He was known for cutting off the arms of the king’s enemies, a practice that fits a cultural pattern among the later Aztecs and Maya. Ammon’s faithful service had a significant impact on King Lamoni and many of his people, who were baptized because of his example. Ammon is considered one of the most skillful missionaries and teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mom welcomed each child, taught them about Ammon, and asked them if they would play the role of Ammon.
They were to help protect (with Lizzy giving them a sword) the King’s sheep by helping to cut off the arm of those steeling the sheep (Rachel).
Then they were to bring a pass-along card to King Lamoni to share the Gospel with him and receive a treat.

Halloween:

Mom’s costume was inspired by our Halloween decorations:

Mom taught her Body Combat class in costume:

Mom driving to work in her skeleton costume.

Rachel was a dark angel:

Rachel went to her friend Aries house and went treating with more friends:

Lizzy was dressed as the Lorax! She went right from school to a friends house and they assembled her costume:

She also spent the evening with friends and came home with her wig in her hand:

Happy Halloween!

General Conference

9/30/23

We are so grateful for our friends the Lowerys who we have been sharing a session of conference together for many years. It was our turn to have them in our home for the first session of General Conference.

The kittens were a big hit!

The settled down for the first session of conference.

Of course we had a smorgasbord for the occasion:

For the afternoon session of Conference we invited the Araques to join us again. Luna was so excited to see her friends!

We also celebrated Franklin’s birthday!

Dad made Franklin his favorite cake: Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

A homemade card adds a nice touch:

Time to relax with Luna and our foster kitten who is trying to befriend Luna and now Franklin.

Happy Birthday Franklin!
