Cocoa Beach

8/01/24

We went to Cocoa Bech, Fl!

Why did we go to Cocoa Beach? Well, The Kennedy Space Center is on Mom’s bucket list of things to do before moving away from Florida; we have never been to Cocoa Beach; and Lizzy met a boy at FSY named Ryan who lives in Cocoa Beach so here we are!

We saw Ron Jon’s on the way in so we’ll have to stop her later for the girls:

We got an Airbnb within walking distance of the beach!:

We brought Luna Dog with us too:

We walked to the beach for a nighttime stroll:

On the beach in the dark (picture in your mind the sand and water)!

Our phones came in handy to light the way:

It was a beautiful night for the beach:

Mom and Dad were happy to be here too!

Sister BFF’s:

Filming a video together on the beach.

8/02/24

The next morning our first stop was Ron Jons:

Then to the Keneddy Space Center!:

This place is big!

We had fun trying out the equipment:

We took a bus ride through the complex:

There were lots of exhibits!

A fun slide:

Mom and Dad climbed through the overhead tunnels:

Back to the beach! This time Luna and Ryan came along!

Dad Rachel and Luna went back to the airbnb and Mom stayed but kept a respectable distance:

We all went out to dinner:

We had a nice evening together getting to know Ryan.

8/03/24

On the way home we stopped at another beach. Dad and Luna relaxed on the beach while we swam:

The waves were fun!

Dad and Luna were content to watch:

That was a very enjoyable quick getaway to Cocoa Beach, Fl.

Young Women Camp

7/16/24

We were all excited for YW Camp at Camp Kiwanis in Silver Springs, FL. The first day Lizzy, Mom and Brother Johanson went out to scout out a new route for the 4th year hike. It is extremely hot out and threatening to rain but we are ready to go:

We headed to places we have never been before:

This tree is amazing!

We followed mamma bear and baby bear tracks for a couple of miles!:

It was a long hike, over 5 miles, so we will have to alter it for the actual 4th year hike.

Mom and Rachel are in the 4th year cabin this year:

The activities are under way! Lizzy is an awesome YCL (Youth Camp Leader) and helps run the activities at camp.

We had an art class:

Chow time:

FSY (For The Strength Of Youth) and TV Interview

7/6/24

Lizzy and Lily went to FSY this year! It was our stake’s off year but some slots opened up and they were excited to go! The Tanners did the drop off at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. We did the pick up:

We went to Denny’s restaurant in DeLand for some breakfast:

They saw some kids there from FSY of course.

They were exhausted!

In the evening we went to a play at the Hippodrome theater and Lizzy was asked to do a TV interview about the performing arts in our area. As a theater kid this was right up her alley!

We never did get to see the TV interview but she did a great job!
