The first costumes of the season: Zombies

They were headed to a church dance!

10/25/23

Fall Festival at church. We did an active representation of Ammon from the Book of Mormon. Ammon became a servant to King Lamoni, a Lamanite king. He protected the king’s sheep and helped the other servants be brave. He was known for cutting off the arms of the king’s enemies, a practice that fits a cultural pattern among the later Aztecs and Maya. Ammon’s faithful service had a significant impact on King Lamoni and many of his people, who were baptized because of his example. Ammon is considered one of the most skillful missionaries and teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mom welcomed each child, taught them about Ammon, and asked them if they would play the role of Ammon.
They were to help protect (with Lizzy giving them a sword) the King’s sheep by helping to cut off the arm of those steeling the sheep (Rachel).
Then they were to bring a pass-along card to King Lamoni to share the Gospel with him and receive a treat.
