Hurricane Clean Up In Steinhatchee, Florida

09/02/23

Although Gainesville, Florida didn’t get hit by the hurricane the big bend area got a direct hit. The Gainesville Florida Stake were assigned to go help out in Steinhatchee, Florida. Mom, Dad, and Lizzy headed out to serve:

It was early in the morning and Lizzy was ready to go!

We stopped at the meeting place to pick up our assignments:

Brother Rae is the lead person on our team.

We went to our first assignment and started right in to work:

The ocean water had flooded carrying fish a mile!
Where did that shoe bottom come from Dad?
The bottom of Dad’s boot fell off!

We finished the first job and headed to the next:

The missionaries joined us at the next location.

Dad is teaching Lizzy how to safely use a chainsaw!

Lizzy found a snake!

No fears!
The end of the day and still smiling.
Yes, we were tired too!

09/03/23

We went to church for just the sacrament and then headed right out to the big bend area for more clean-up:

The second house was much more challenging:

Dad climbed up on the fallen tree!
Working hard!
Dad wore sneakers today and they broke too! Mom got some duct tape to keep them together.

Location number three:

Still smiling a ready to work!
A quick rest break for the missionaries.
Back to work and getting a bit tired.
Lizzy’s getting in some more practice on the chainsaw.
Tired but glad we were able to help!
Lizzy is a beast and worked hard all day

On Monday Mom and Dad stayed home to go back to work but Lizzy went back with some ward members to continue to help with the hurricane clean-up. Your amazing Lizzy!
