2020 Vacation Day Twelve Adventure: Roan Mountain- Round Bald, Jane Bald and Grassy Ridge Bald. Lastly, Roan Mountain State Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stopped at a pullout on the way to the trail. Wow!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We found the trailhead. It rained last night and into the morning so it was a little chilly this morning.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Half of the trail is in Tennessee and half in North Carolina.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
All of this hike except the last peak (Grassy Ridge Bald) is on the Appalachian Trail.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

It was a rainy morning so the air was cool and the ground wet, but gratefully we stayed dry.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With all the rain last night and this morning we had to hike up a creek running down the trail.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Briefly leaving the Appalachian Trail to go on to Grassy Ridge Bald.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Another cool looking natural tunnel.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The greenery was so lush in this section.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We made it to the last peak on our hike.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
