For Mom’s birthday she wanted to go kayaking with the manatees!<\/strong> We drove to Crystal River and launched our Kayaks from Hunter Springs Park. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was a little chilly out but not too bad with coats and gloves:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A manatee swam right under Rachel’s kayak! It was as big as her kayak! We saw dolphins too!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And ducks:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We headed in the direction of the dolphins and watched for the manatees:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There were pelicans too:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We caught back up with the dolphins:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The birds and the dolphins were fishing in the same spot!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We were right near them!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

They swam around and around us!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We finally caught up to the manatees:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

One, a juvenile manatee, came right up to Rachel!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

He wanted to be petted!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy got to pet him too!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

He stayed with us for a while!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We kept petting him:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

That was an incredible experience!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our way home Dad’s truck stopped. Turns out his gas gauge is broken and we ran out of gas<\/strong>. We ran towards the gas station and mom stayed with the truck.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We thought it was closer so Lizzy and I came back to the truck and Dad ended up getting a ride to the gas station. After getting gas another person stopped to give dad a ride back to the truck<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were very thankful for the good Samaritans!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The whole thing took about 40 minutes and we were back on our way home!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later that evening we celebrated Mom’s birthday at home too. To Mom Love Rachel!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
