Beck Family Vacation: Italy. Day Six in the Dolomites\/Alps\/Auronzo, Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This morning we stopped at a bakery and got pastries for breakfast and some delicious bread we will have later for lunch along the hike. We drove 45 minutes to our hike in the Tre Crime Di Lavaredo Nature Park on the Tre Crime Trail (Three Peaks Trail). We got to the park at 9am and we had to wait about 15 minutes in a car line to the entrance fee station (30 euros per car!). There were a lot of people planning to hike this trail! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little chilly but the sun is out.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We decided to go counterclockwise based on research we did on the trail conditions and also less people. The views at the start were beautiful! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather was only a little chilly and the sun was even out. Thee were views of the mountains from every direction<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Oh how things changed!! Snow = Snowball Fights:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s on!<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And on . . .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And on. They never give up!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is warming up into a pretty day:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hike then turned into hiking mostly along ledges:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We were hoping the low clouds will burn off throughout the day so we can get a better view of the three peaks<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More snow and clouds as we climb higher:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another snowball fight broke out:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water in the pond is crystal clear!<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy went wading in the freezing cold water!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A beautiful backdrop for her!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making our way around the mountains and over some little streams<\/strong>. There was a restaurant up here too!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We kept hiking through:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The hike was pretty steep:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nice little flat section:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s our trail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of nowhere this happened! It was lightly raining and the trail went so high the snow got deeper. It was quite slippery with snow, slush and a little ice too:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hit the mother load!<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This white winged snow finch stopped by to say hello:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel might just be praying for this hike to end:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It might be trying to clear up again:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We think that water in the far distance might be the reservoir by our Airbnb (?)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

End of hike pic. We survived!<\/strong> We had a lot of fun, some misery, and we completed this incredible 6 mile hike together!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dad’s hoodie elastic has imprinted his head perhaps permanently. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if this is his new look from now on<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
