Mom gave us a pre-Christmas gifts for the travels<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Window clings!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And we are on our way!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dad is on the wheel:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The window clings are going up:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stayed in a hotel near the Appalachian Trail and so the next morning we can do some hiking!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were ready to go hiking except Dad accidentally brought two left foot boots so he had to hike in the only other shoes he had, his moccasins!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off for our first real winter hike (although there is no snow on the ground):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We had to cross the Railroad tracks to get to the trail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mom loves hiking on the Appalachian Trail!<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dad and Lizzy climbed up to get some icicles:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was a steep climb down:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

They slid down to the trail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Now that’s a big icicle:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s sharp too:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made it to our first viewpoint:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom and Dad were pretty happy to be on the Appalachian Trail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was a bit of a steep climb:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We made it to the top:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel was enjoying her audio book<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time to stop and explore:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy went inside the cave:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She’s back!:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy and Sullivan made it out to the furthest point for a good view from the top of the mountain: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Beautiful views at the top of the mountain:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The top of the mountain ridge-line is quite rocky:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy and Rachel hiked ahead of us a bit and we found them here:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy is quite the climber:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We made it back!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dad’s Moccasins did great on the Appalachian Trail. Dad officially received his trail name: “Moccasin”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mom gave us another surprise gift for after our hike:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"
Elf on the shelf gummy candy!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Our AirBNB in Geneva, NY:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We made it to Grandpa Ed and Grandma Joyce’s house (Mom’s Dad and Step-mother)<\/strong> and we met their new German Shepherd Nina:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel had a treat ready for her!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

NY pizza is perfect for a birthday celebration!<\/strong> Grandpa and Grandma celebrate Lizzy and Dad’s birthdays when we visit at Christmas since we both have December birthdays.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a grey drizzly day but the temple is still beautiful!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mom and Dad were very happy the temple was open!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When they came home we went to our cousins’ house in Canandaigua, NY<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marley and Margo were happy to see us.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We played the card game Anomia<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was a lot of fun:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We visited with Gabe and gave him his Christmas present:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He likes space things so he liked the shirt we got him and the treats too:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We drove out to Fayette and went to the Peter Whitmer Farm for church<\/strong>. This is the church where Mom, Grandma in heaven, Aunt Karen and Lizzy were all baptized.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we thought it would be fun to go ice skating so we drove to Geneva to the ice skating rink:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately It Was Closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we went to Grandpa and Grandma’s house and put together a new puzzle:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dad made Chicken and Dumplings for dinner and it was a big hit!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we played a question game mom lead:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We went back to the airbnb and played a knock each other over game with Dad:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christmas Day! Grandma Joyce with help from Grandpa Ed made a wonderfully delicious Christmas meal!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lizzy bonded with Nina:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And then we exchanged gifts<\/strong> starting with handmade Christmas cards<\/strong> for Grandpa and Grandma:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A gift for the both of them first:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
