Week Eleven Day Four Trail Adventure: Serenola Forest Preserve Trail.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a new preserve (2018) and the trail opened just last year. This is our first time here.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There is a small picnic area right at the entrance.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"Image
The weather has been stormy for several days now. We are in between storms. The trail is about a mile.\u00a0\ud83e\udd1e\ud83d\udeab\ud83c\udf27\ufe0f!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of this trail were the red berries. The girls love to pop them. They make quite an audible\u00a0\ud83c\udf89.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After picking off the berries Rachel was impressed by the flower-like remains on the stem.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The trail is beginning to get overgrown in a couple spots, but it was still very easy going and very well marked.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There is a second picnic area along the trail.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Back to the trail before it rains! – We have been rained on two days in a row.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

These berries became the focus of the girls attention.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The girls picked them, popped them hoarded them and even renamed themselves Berry Queen and Berry Princess!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The girls were now singing berry songs\u00a0\ud83c\udfb6.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Impossible to get lost.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Rock, Paper, Scissors for the title of “Queen of All the Berries”<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
