3\/03\/22 – 3\/04\/22<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom and Dad wanted to test out their backpacking gear before they actually go on a big overnight hike. So they gathered all their gear and backpacks:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And they headed out to a trail in Jacksonville called the Pioneer Trail:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They dropped us off at school and headed to Jacksonville. By the time they arrived the morning sun was bright! <\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
They really weren’t sure how far they were going to go but they had to get back to pick us up from school at 4pm.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

They had company along the way:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A mountain in Florida?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

They found a campsite to set up their tent and cook a meal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

No problem with the tent:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Time to try out the camp stove and freeze-dried meal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ready for lunch.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

No too bad and not great either. But the camp stove worked fine!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We explored a bit:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom spotted something unusual and went to check it out:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone hid a painted rock. They left it there for the next people to enjoy.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There were some pretty flowers as well:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They got a call from the school that Lizzy wasn’t feeling well. Time to head back:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was actually a bit of an uphill climb at the start going back:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They hurried back the 4 miles back to the trailhead.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little tired from rushing back.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Time to go help Lizzy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grandpa Ed and Grandma Joyce always send such nice cards!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
